I’m Cody Cumpston, a lifelong West Virginian, union member, and community-first neighbor running to represent District 6.

I was born and raised in Cameron, WV, and I know what it means to grow up in a small town where people look out for each other. More than five years ago, my family and I built our home in Moundsville, where we’ve proudly put down roots.
I’ve been married to my wife, Erica, for 20 years, and together we’re raising two amazing daughters. Our oldest attends West Virginia University, majoring in Horticulture with a minor in Conservation, while our youngest plans to attend Northern Community College this fall to study Software Engineering. Our home is always busy and shared with six rescue cats, two dogs, four chickens, and a fish tank.
I’m a proud member of IBEW Local 141 and serve as an elected member of the Executive Committee and the Social Committee, helping support and bring together working families. I’m also active with the Marshall, Tyler, and Wetzel Labor Council, advocating for fair treatment and strong worker protections.
I stay involved locally as a member of the Moundsville Land Reuse Committee, the Moundsville Planning Commission, and as President of Marshall County Mutual Aid, where I work to make sure neighbors have help when they need it most. I’m also running for District 3 Male Representative on the Marshall County Democratic Executive Committee, continuing my commitment to grassroots leadership.
When I’m not working or volunteering, I enjoy spending time with my family, watching movies, going to WVU basketball games, or reading a good book. I’m running to bring practical leadership and a strong working-class voice to District 6.
